CALPIRG’s Legislative Scorecard 2005
Each year, CALPIRG compiles legislative scorecards for all members of the California Legislature. Our scorecards educate the public about their elected officials by providing voting records in an easy-to-use, integrated, nonpartisan format. The scorecards are also a tool for California citizens to hold their elected officials accountable.

Scorecards are based on each legislator’s votes on key consumer and good government legislation during 2005. Specifically, we select votes that reflect our priority issues. In 2005, our priorities included safe and affordable health care and medicine, identity theft prevention, accessible and affordable higher education, corporate reform, fair business practices, safe products and government reforms.

Bill numbers and descriptions of the California legislation that CALPIRG scored, as well as the Assembly scorecards, are available at www.calpirg.org/scorecards.
